Among those inside the stadium was Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, who witnessed Barcelona clinch the title against their fiercest rivals. After the final whistle, he publicly congratulated the club.
The triumph marked the culmination of an impressive domestic campaign under Hansi Flick, as Barcelona dominated much of the season with aggressive, attacking football and remarkable consistency.
Tebas highlighted the club’s identity, youth development, and overall mentality in a social media message shortly after the match.
“They have built a brave, intense, and distinctive team. With young talent, ambition, and a very clear playing philosophy, they are all working together to build a very solid project. They have won the best league in the world – LaLiga – with authority and merit,” Tebas wrote in both Spanish and Catalan.
He added further congratulations: “Congratulations to the coaching staff, players, directors, and fans of FC Barcelona on this title.”
The victory over Real Madrid carried extra historical weight, as Barcelona had never previously secured the league title directly against their eternal rivals. Heading into the El Clasico, the Blaugrana needed just one point to be crowned champions. But Flick’s side ensured there would be no last-minute drama, producing another dominant performance in front of their home supporters.
The 2-0 win allowed Barcelona to celebrate the title with three matches still remaining in the season, while also moving 14 points clear of Madrid in the standings.
With three league games left, Barcelona now has the chance to reach the 100-point mark in La Liga—a feat accomplished only twice before in the competition’s history.
