The National Hockey League has announced the three finalists for the General Manager of the Year award. Bill Guerin of the Minnesota Wild, Chris MacFarland of the Colorado Avalanche, and Pat Verbeek of the Anaheim Ducks are the finalists, having received the most votes from a panel that includes NHL general managers, league executives, and journalists. The voting took place after the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Guerin led the Wild to a third-place finish in the Central Division during the regular season and guided the team to its first playoff series win since 2015. MacFarland helped the Avalanche reach the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season and finish the regular season atop the overall NHL standings. Verbeek steered the Ducks back to the postseason for the first time since 2018, with the team finishing third in the Pacific Division in the regular season.
