French champion Dorian Godon (Ineos Grenadiers) claimed victory on Friday in the third stage of the Tour de Romandía, a circuit race around Orbe, Switzerland. Godon sprinted past Tadej Pogacar in a finish that doubled as redemption after losing to the Slovenian in a similar reduced sprint the previous day.

Godon crossed the line ahead of New Zealander Finn Fisher-Black and Frenchman Valentin Paret-Peintre. Pogacar finished fourth, enough to retain the yellow jersey as race leader.
With the final climb located more than 30 kilometers from the finish, the overall contenders had no chance to test each other. Pogacar leads German Florian Lipowitz and Frenchman Lenny Martinez in the general classification, with no changes to the time gaps.
Saturday’s fourth and penultimate stage features three ascents of the Col du Jaun, offering a more favorable terrain for attacks ahead of Sunday’s final leg, which ends with an uphill finish toward Leysin.
The stage win underscores Godon’s sprinting form, while Pogacar maintains his comfortable lead with two days remaining in the Swiss WorldTour race.
